Hans,
I hope you are well. I just wanted to write and thank you for arranging
such a great tour from Bali to Yogyakarta. Our driver Yuli was fantastic
and a delight to travel with, we would like to highly recommend
him to any of your visitors.
Your local guides looked after us really well and were very good
at responding to our various needs. We would particularly like to
thank Wulan for showing us the Jogyakarta area – it was really
good to know that the local tourist industry has been working so
hard, in a voluntary capacity clearing ash by shovel and sack, to
get major sites like Borobudur up and running again. I was so impressed
at how the Indonesian people have rallied together to support the
victims of the Merapi Eruption. Please thank Wulan again for taking
us to a refugee camp to allow us to meet the evacuated villages
and donate the small gifts of clothes etc that we had brought from
England. Having lost everything the Villages met us with warmth
and welcome and are a credit to the Indonesian nation.
A particular highlight was our stay in the Roemahkoe heritage hotel
in Solo which we loved. The classic 1920’s style hotel, with
outstanding service delivered by the most welcoming, friendly and
professional staff. The food delicious and the service faultless.
I would recommend this hotel to all independent or small group travellers
looking for a heritage hotel in Java. The only reservation from
one of our group was the sound of the Mullah at 4.00am which woke
her. An obvious and ever present occurrence in a Muslim country
– I slept through it no problems – never heard a thing
- but might be work discussing with light sleeper among your guests.
The highlight of the tour for me was the unexpected eruption at
Bromo which was the most exciting act of nature that I have ever
witnessed, as some of the very few tourists there we were privileged
to meet the volcanologists, news crews and police teams co-ordinating
the safety operations there.
Thank you again for all your work in putting our tour together.
I appreciate that the recent eruptions have dramatically affected
the whole Jogyakarta economy and been particularly devastating to
tourism. I hope that our positive experiences will encourage more
travellers to visit your area at this time.

Thamrin whom I was fortunate to meet at the consulate party in September
and the Hon. Treasurer of the Anglo Indonesian Society in England
Mr Stuart Duncan, as a small positive story in what has recently
been a negative period for Indonesia.

I just got back from a very nice holiday in Bali. Just wanted to
say a special thanks to you for organizing our driver and car in
Yogyakarta. The driver “Ali” was waiting for us exactly
as you had said with the placard at the exit gate of Yogyakarta
airport. We found Ali to be very efficient and he took us to a beautiful
place for lunch. Ali was always on the lookout for us when we returned
from our excursions. We really enjoyed our 1-day trip to Yogyakarta.

berpuas hati dgn your tour service. Elly the guide, and both bus
driver is very obliging and my group is very happy as they get what
they want. For hotel accommodation, are all OK but for Bandung, the
cottages room are very small and 4 person in a cottage
with a toilet is not enough. If we come again, hope that you can
get us room in the hotel itself not stay in the cottage. Bus condition
is very good and accommodation in Puncak is marvellous. I will not
hesitate to recommend to my friends and relatives to seek your travel
and tour if they are planning to go to Indonesia. Once again, on
behalf of my group, we would like to say thank you.

Hans,
I just returned from my holiday in Indonesia and I wanted to let
you know that we were all very impressed with the service we received
from Yogya Tours and specifically Purnomo and our driver. They were
always on time, polite and Purnomo was very knowledgeable. He also
did extra work in order to make arrangements for us to climb Merapi.
I'm not sure if he mentioned it, but I had a bad fall when coming
down the volcano. Purnomo made arrangements for me to get a massage
in his village. This spared me a lot of pain and was very much appreciated.
Finally, thanks to you for making sure my camera was returned safely
and in time for my departure from Bali.
I will certainly recommend Yogya Tours to any of
my colleagues who may be planning a trip to Indonesia.

I've finally managed to find the time to write this email to you
in relation to our recent trip to Yogyakarta and the wonderful service
we received from our driver Yuli. He was always there waiting for
us when we had to go out each day and his polite and friendly manner
is something that is worth its weight in gold. He is a great asset
to your company and someone who is highly regarded by all the members
of the family who travelled with me. I would have no hesitation
in recommending your company to anyone who was travelling to Indonesia
and if the rest of your employees are the same as Yuli then you
have done a great job in selecting the people who represent your
company. I am quite happy for you to post these comments online
