Jomblang Cave is a vertical cave that looks like an enormous sinkhole with the 90 meters depth . It is located in Jetis, Pacarejo, Semanu, Gunungkidul Regency, and is reachable in 2 hours from Jogjakarta City, where the land in this area is part of the southern highland of Java Island, which is composed of the karst highland that was at the bottom of the ocean millions of years ago.
How does Jomblang Cave tour runs?
To reach the bottom of Jomblang Cave, the authority provided a human-operated crane to descend to the cave’s bottom as well as to ascend back, two by two. An earlier departure from the hotel in Yogyakarta is very suggested, as the total number of people allowed to visit this cave is only 80 for a day. Those who come earlier will be given priority.
