Tour Itinerary

Step 1 Yogyakarta to Borobudur Temple

  • 03.30: Pick up from your hotel apartment, guest houses in Jogjakarta, direct transfer to Manohara, a special entrance gate to Borobudur Temple 
  • 04.00: Arrive at Manohara Gate and get the entrance ticket. Climb up to the top of Dagi Hill to stay for a while and wait for the sunrise.
  • 05.00 –06.00 Enjoy the sunrise, see the magnificent panoramic view, take a café break and then walk to the Borobudur temple across the beautiful garden. 

Step 2 Borobudur Temple Tour

  • 07.00 – Arrive at Borobudur, get the entrance ticket at the entrance gate, then walk through the beautiful gardens, up the stairs to reach the courtyard around Borobudur Temple, from where we can see the statues with different hand positions from 4 different angles. We can also see on the open basement a piece of relief from the Mahakaramawibangga story (stories that contain the moral teachings of cause-and-effect), and take pictures with the whole temple as the background.
  • At the second level, we can watch the Buddha’s life story’s relief depicted on the walls, one of the most popular and well-known as the relief of Buddha’s incarnation as Prince Siddhartha Gautama, and at the third level, we can watch 72 stupas arranged in circular mode, with the large one being the mother stupa. 

Step 3 Borobudur temple back to Yogyakarta

  • 09.00: Transfer to Jogjakarta. On the way, you may stop over at the Pawon Temple and Mendut Temple (where there are three big Buddha statues inside).
  • 10.00 – Arrive at Hotel in Jogjakarta end of service
