Borobudur Temple, the biggest ancient Buddhist temple built in the 8th century, is well-known as a monument registered by UNESCO. It is located 45 km to the northwest, or 1.5 hours from Jogjakarta City. Borobudur Temple is located on a hill, and the temple is compounded by 2 rectangular levels and 1 circular level, which symbolize Buddhism.
The first level at the bottom of the temple symbolizes a day full of lust, greed, deceit, and others. The second level is the level where we can watch the Buddha statues inside the nice with different hand positions on each side, as well as the relief of the story of Buddha life. This level symbolizes when people start to get spiritual life. Third level is this circular level, where there are 72 stupas arranged in a circle with the largest in the center as the mother stupa, which symbolizes the perfect life.

Detailed Tour itineraries
- 07.00 – Pick up from Hotel in Jogjakarta and leaving to Borobudur Temple
- 08.30: Arrive at Borobudur, and after getting entrance tickets, walk through the beautiful gardens and up the stairs to reach the courtyard around Borobudur Temple.
From the yard, we can also watch in the open basement a piece of relief from the Mahakaramawibangga story (stories that contain the moral teachings of cause and effect) and take pictures with the whole temple in the background. - And on the second level, where we could watch the relief of the life of Buddha depicted on the wall, as well as the statues inside the niches with different hand positions from four different angles, and on the third level, we could watch the 72 stupas that were arranged in circular mode, with the largest one in the center as the mother stupa.
